1954

Pfizer Philippines was officially established with 9 colleagues

Pfizer partnered with Metro Drug Corporation to import and distribute Pfizer products. Back then, Metro Drug had a sales force of only three people.

Ludwig A. Armerding was Pfizer PH's first ever country manager.

1957

A Pfizer manufacturing plant was constructed on Malugay Street in Makati City. This plant continued to operate for the next 24 years. It was the 9th of 81 manufacturing facilities established by Pfizer outside the U.S.

1958

Pfizer PH workforce grew from 9 to 159, following the organization of the Agricultural Division.

1965

The workforce increased to 239

1967

Vibramycin, one of the most important broad-spectrum antibiotics, was launched.

1971

Combantrin, a popular anti-parasitic medicine for children, was launched.

1978

Pfizer medicines started to be pack in blister packs.

1984

Lysivit Multivitamin syrup was launched.

1993

The first Filipino country manager was Federico A. Gonzalez. He served from 1993 to 1996, and mentored Rey Gerardo E. Bacarro, who would later on serve as the country manager in 2001.

1994

Pfizer launched Zithromax, the first oral antibiotic for respiratory tract, skin, and soft tissue infections.

1997

Sandra Webb became the first female country manager. She was also responsible for setting up the Pfizer Philippines Foundation.

1998

Pfizer launched Viagra and Trovan. The company already had 384 employees.

1999

Celebrex debuted.

2000

The biggest merger in global pharmaceutical history took place when Pfizer acquired Warner Lambert

The company became number one in the cardiovascular business owing to its "crown jewels," Norvasc and
Lipitor

2001

Pfizer Philippines was named as one of the Best Employers in the Philippines be Hewitt Associates, Asian Wall Street Journal, and the Far Eastern Economic Review

2002

Pfizer acquired Pharmacia Corporation and officially combined operations in April 2003

2004

Pfizer celebrated its 50th anniverary in the Philippines.

The Pfizer SulitCard was also launched.

2005

ENGAGE, one of the programs of the Pfizer Philippines Foundation, was conceived after a company-wide survey showed that majority of colleagues value employee volunteerism. ENGAGE went on to receive several awards from PR and CSR award-giving bodies.

2008

Terramycin Wound Wash was launched. It complemented Terramycin Plus Skin Antibiotic, allowing Pfizer to offer a complete wound care system.

2009

In October 15, Pfizer acquired Wyeth

2010

Normetec, a treatment for hypertension and Prevenar 13, the now-number one vaccine in the world, were introduced to the Philippine Market

2011

Pristiq, an anti-depressant, debuted

2012

The NayBahay Birthing Center program was launched by the Pfizer Philippines Foundation to provide safe birthing facilities and affordable maternal healthcare services for women especially in remote areas. The first NayBahay Ligtas Paanakan Center was established in Minalabac, Camarines Sur.

2013

The FDA approved the use of Prevenar 13 for all ages, 6 weeks onwards.

Pfizer launched Eliquis, a significant breakthrough in anticoagulation since the discovery of warfarin more than 50 years ago.

2014

Violi D. Remo became the first Filipina Country Manager

2014 marks Ponstan's 50th year and Pfizer Sulit Care Card's 10th year in the Philippines

2015

In February, Pfizer acquired Hospira, the largest producer of generic injectable pharmaceuticals in the world

2018

Pfizer announced it will organize the company into three business: a science-based Innovative Medicines business which will now include biosimilars and a new hospital business unit for anti-infectives and sterile injectibles (PBG); an off-patent branded and generic Established Medicines business operating with substantial autonomy within Pfizer (Upjohn) and a Consumer Healthcare business (PCH)

In December 2018, GlaxoSmithKline announced that it, along with Pfizer, had reached an agreement to merge and combine their consumer healthcare divisions into a single entity

2019

In late July, Mylan N.V. and Pfizer Inc. agreed to combined Mylan with Upjohn, creating a new global pharmaceutical company

2021

Office relocation to Rockwell Building
